WelcomeWelcome to the website for Forrest Badminton Club. Forrest is the largest club in the Bolton League famed for producing their own junior players. The club has received Silver Club Mark Accreditation with Badminton England to become the first club in Lancashire to achieve this award. We field seven teams in the Bolton League, one team in the Whitefield League and one team in the Leigh League. As well as senior members, we have over 40 junior members. In addition to providing opportunities for competitive play, the club runs coaching sessions led by fully qualified coaches and organises various social events throughout the year. Latest News

FC Barcelona and Manchester United FC will descend on Rome's Stadio Olimpico for the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League final next Wednesday, 27th May.
As we expect many will be showing their support for Barca, we have decided to reduce the number of courts available on Wednesday 27th May. Therefore, there will be two courts available instead of four.
Four courts available 3rd June. |

Congratulations go to our 'E' team who won their final Bolton Badminton League match last Friday and as a result moved up to second place, just ahead of Markland Hill 'F', to become runners up in section 'D'. As runners up the team will collect trophies at the Bolton Badminton League Presentation Dance to be held on Friday 1st May at Horwich RMI and will join Forrest's 'C' and 'D' teams in section 'C' of the league next season. |

On Sunday the 12th of July, the annual Manchester to Blackpool bike ride takes place, starting from Man United Football club and finishing at the Promenade at Blackpool, the event is the largest bike ride in the north west. Approx. 60 miles in distance, the ride involves a full day out, with plenty of pit stops, including Heigh hall and preston, if the weather is good its a fab day out. It only costs £14 to enter and you don't need to be a seasoned rider to take part, as i've previously seen people taking part in fancy dress, on uni-cycles and tandems.
I'm currently looking to put together a group entry into the event. That doesn't mean we have to all ride together, but its nice to start together and then meet up at the finish for a well deserved pint and to tell stories on saddle soreness. Summer Clubs nights commence on Wednesday 8th April.
Club nights will take place every Wednesday, 8-10pm at the Bolton Arena. Four courts will be available every week for Forrest club members and league standard visitors, £3 per session for adults and £2 for juniors / students.
Non-league visitors are invited to attend the practice sessions from 7-10 pm on Fridays, also at Bolton Arena.
Forrest currently have 9 teams competing in 3 leagues (Bolton, Whitefield and Leigh), therefore we are always looking for new players! If you are interested in joining the club, why not come down during the summer months, and have a game? If you have any queries, speak to Ray, Matt or Lisa. |

The Annual Presentation Dance will be held on Friday 1st May. It will be held once again at Horwich RMI, from 7:30-12 midnight with the presentation commencing at 8:30pm. Tickets are priced at £10. Please speak to your captains about obtaining tickets. Its a great end of the season party, you don't need to have won anything to come along and join the celebrations. |

Forrest E take on DL Farnworth D in the 'Robert Cup' final on Wednesday 25th March at Bolton Arena(8pm).
The other match of the evening sees Sharples A take on Westhoughton A in the 'Jane Fletcher Memorial Cup' final.

This week are the last Wednesday and Sunday badminton coaching sessions, with the last session on 29th March.
There will be a short break for the Easter holidays before the summer badminton coaching sessions commence.
These will start on Friday 24th April at the Bolton Arena and run every Friday during summer until September. As usual, 3 sessions are available:
- 7-8pm Beginners
- 8-9pm Intermediates
- 9-10pm Practice match play
Sessions are open to all. Girls and women are encouraged to come along and give it a go!
Enrolment will take place at the beginning of each session on Friday 24th April. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you are unable to attend the sessions on 24th April then contact Ray Schofield here in which case a place may be able to be reserved for you. |
