WelcomeWelcome to the website for Forrest Badminton Club. Forrest is the largest club in the Bolton League famed for producing their own junior players. The club has received Silver Club Mark Accreditation with Badminton England to become the first club in Lancashire to achieve this award. We field seven teams in the Bolton League, two teams in the Whitefield League and one team in the Leigh League. As well as senior members, we have over 40 junior members. In addition to providing opportunities for competitive play, the club runs coaching sessions led by fully qualified coaches and organises various social events throughout the year. Latest News

The 2010 Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships will be the 100th Championships and returns to the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham between the 9th and 14th March 2010. This year, Badminton England is allocating a limited number of free tickets for the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions to us as one of its Premier Clubs.
If you are interested in attending these free sessions please e-mail me with your name and how many tickets you would require. Junior members should note that they would need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult if they wish to attend. Names will be drawn from a hat if the demand for tickets exceeds our allocation.

Congratulations to our A, B, C and G teams for making it through to the cup semi-finals. The semi-finals are to be played the week commencing 22nd February. Our A and B team are to play against each other in the Jane Fletcher Memorial Cup, with our C and G team playing against each other in the Robert Cup.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the club christmas tournament. The day was enjoyed by all, providing players the opportunity to play some badminton over the christmas break as well as the chance to win some of the many raffle prizes that were kindly donated by our members.

Forrest B.C. have decided to run a club Christmas Tournament on Sunday 27th December, at Bolton Arena, 10-5.
In order to encourage participation, the committee have decided to make the tournament 'free entry'.
For those who remember it, the format of the competition will be a similar style to the old Markland Hill Tournament where randomly picked pairings play one game with each other, and then one against each other. There will be initial group matches with a minimum number of games per player, with no players playing each other in more than one pair of games. Players will then progress into a second, knockout stage with ultimate winners in each knockout group.
In addition to the tournament, a large raffle will take place mid-afternoon, tickets can be purchased at £1 per strip. We would like each entrant to donate a prize so that everyone has a good change of winning something. If you have any raffle prizes to donate, please contact Matt ASAP or bring them along on the day.
Please note, the Rijo cafe and Bar 42 (located upstairs) will not be open on the Sunday. Therefore, please bring food and drink with you, enough to share if you wish!
