  1. Name
    The Club shall be called the Forrest Badminton Club and will be affiliated to Badminton England.
  2. Aims and Objectives
    1. The Aim
      To provide competitive Badminton for all standards in a relaxed family environment.
    2. Objectives
      Promote and encourage the playing of Badminton in our local area through Junior Coaching, Junior Teams and participation of Juniors at Club Nights, Functions and Social Events.
       
      To provide an Open Membership for Club Players, limited to 4 Members of each gender per team plus Juniors, including a beginner team in the bottom section.
  3. Membership
    1. The Club shall consist of the Officers and the Members.
    2. All members will be subject to the regulations of the constitution and by joining the club will be deemed to accept these regulations and codes of conduct that the club has adopted.
    3. Members will be enrolled in one of the following categories:
      • Full Member
      • Associate Member
      • Junior Member
      • Life Member
  4. Membership Fees
    Membership fees will be set annually and agreed by the Executive/Management Committee determined at the Annual General Meeting.
  5. Officers of the Club
    1. The Officers of the Club will be:
      • Chair
      • Secretary
      • Treasurer
      • Social Secretary
      • Communications and Publicity Officer
      • Any other relevant position
    2. Officers will be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.
    3. All officers will retire each year but will be eligible for re-election.
  6. Committee
    1. The club will be managed through the Management Committee consisting of all elected officers and team captains, who will have the right to vote at meetins of the Management Committee.
    2. The Management Committee will be convened by the Chair of the Club and held no less than once per year.
    3. The quorum required for business to be agreed at Management Committee meetins will be five members.
    4. The Management Committee will be responsible for adopting new policy, codes of conduct and rules that affect the organisation of the club.
    5. The Management Committee will have powers to appoint sub-committees as necessary and appoint advisors to the Management Committee as necessary to fulfill its business.
    6. The Management Committee will be responsible for disciplinary hearings of members who infringe the club rules / regulations / constitution.
    7. The Management Committee will be responsible for taking any actions of suspension or discipline following such hearings.
  7. Finance
    1. All Club monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the Club.
    2. The Club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the Club.
    3. The finanicial year of the club will end May or June before the A.G.M
    4. An audited statement of annual accounts will be presented by the Treasurer at the Annual General Meeting.
    5. Any cheques drawn against the Club funds should hold signatures of the Treasurer plus up to two other officers.
  8. Annual General Meetings
    1. Notice of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be given by the Club Secretary. Not less than 14 clear days' notice to be given to all members. The AGM will recieve a report from officers of the Management Committee and a statment of the audited accounts.
    2. Election of officers is to take place at the AGM.
    3. All members have the right to vote at the AGM.
    4. The quorum for AGMs will be 20% of full membership.
    5. The Management Committee has the right to call Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) outside the AGM. Procedures for EGMs will be the same as for the AGM.
  9. Discipline and appeals
    1. All complaints regarding the behaviour of members should be submitted in writing to the Secretary.
    2. The Management Committee will meet to hear complaints within 21 days of a complaint being lodged. The committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action including the termination of membership.
    3. The outcome of a disciplinary hearing should be notified in writing to the person who lodged the complaint and the member against whom the complaint was made within 21 days of the hearing.
    4. There will be the right of appeal to the Management Committee following disciplinary action being announced. The committee should consider the appeal within 21 days of the Secretary receiving the appeal.
  10. Dissolution
    1. A resolution to dissolve the club can only be passed at an AGM or EGM through a majority vote of the membership.
    2. In the event of dissolution, any assets or liabilities of the club that remain will be shared equally between full members.
  11. Amendments to the Constitution
    The Constitution will only be changed through agreement if supported by not less than two-thirds of those members present at an AGM or EGM.
